Robert (Bob) Shauger, and his wife Grace, became members of Holy Trinity Parish in early 2004. At that time Bob and Grace had completed 3 ½ years in the Permanent Diaconate Program in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Bob was ordained a Permanent Deacon on June 19, 2005 by Archbishop William Levada for the Diocese of Sacramento. He received his assignment to Holy Trinity Parish on the same day from Bishop William Weigand.
As a deacon assigned to Holy Trinity, Bob assists the members of the parish community and the pastor. Bob assists the priest at Sunday Masses and at various other liturgies during the year. He administers the Eucharist to the homebound, as well as performing other pastoral duties when necessary.
Together, Bob and Grace are involved in the baptism preparation program for parents and godparents in the parish. They are also involved in the parish's Spanish Speaking Ministry.
Bob and Grace feel that they have found a new spiritual and loving home here at Holy Trinity Parish.
