Fr. Larry Beck is the second of two sons of Lawrence and the late Mildred Beck. Born in 1959, he was reared in Brea, Calif. in north Orange County and attended the parochial school of his home parish of St. Angela Merici. After graduating from the local public high school in 1977, he began his college studies at Cal State Fullerton and then transferred to and graduated in 1982 from the University of Southern California with a degree in Civil Engineering.
During these years he began discerning the call to priesthood and entered St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo. He was ordained in 1988 for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and transferred in 2004 to the Diocese of Sacramento. He has served as administrator of the parishes of St. John, Quincy and Our Lady of the Snows, Lake Almanor, and then in 2011 was appointed pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Amador County.
In July 2017, Bishop Soto appointed him pastor of Holy Trinity Parish. In his free time, he enjoys reading, camping and hiking.
